Nigeria international Samuel Chukwueze has been offered to English champions, Liverpool in the event that the Reds are unable to capture the signature of Senegalese Ismaila Sarr.
Liverpool completed their first signing of the transfer window on Monday when Greece International, Kontas Tsimikas was captured from Olympiakos to serve as an understudy to Andy Robertson.
With the 2019 Champions League winners still very much active in the transfer market, there are suggestions that Villarreal winger Chukwueze can help Liverpool more in the final third if it is impossible for them to get Sarr from relegated Watford. The website, smarterscout uses players’ statistical profiles to present suggestions for one who might be like another.
One of their top matches for Sarr is Chukwueze, and he is also marked down as both a ‘young player to watch’ and a potential high performer in the Premier League. A look at his and Sarr’s stats from the last two years, on Understat.com , also suggests the two players can deliver a similar level of output.
Their expected goals per 90 minutes played across the last two seasons has been just 0.01 different (0.23 per 90 for Chukwueze), and Chukwueze’s increased creativity over the last 12 months means he was 0.01 ahead of Sarr on expected assists in 2019/20, on 0.20 per 90.
It was further stated that the 21-year-old Nigeria international is excellent at going past opponents, too – only four players who made at least 30 appearances completed more dribbles per 90 minutes than he did in La Liga (2.8) this season (via WhoScored). The Nation reporting;
