1993 in 2023: Aiyekooto Dims Searchlight

1993 in 2023: Aiyekooto Dims Searchlight

Awolowo left, Abiola came. They didn’t even really agree while they lived together but Abiola made good Awolowo’s electoral hope. Yes, he was robbed._

_Abiola died and IGE’s sagacity increased. He wasn’t even allowed to run in a political party he formed and constituted. They let him leave the country and quickly organised a primary and chose another person. He was plainly robbed. Unlike Abiola, they can’t jail him but they drew him near to them just like Mohammed Ali, and gave him a killer punch in his bedroom. They thought, all is over for those stubborn progressives… “We have finished them”. Unfortunately, they were wrong. They have never been this wrong in their life!_

_A NADECO Chieftain and Exile Returnee who has learnt politics under the Chicago Democratic Movement and eventually, the hottest political machinery 3rd Republic, Shehu Musa Yar’adua, BOLA TINUBU suddenly emerged from LAGOS like an Afternoon Star. He had studied the travails of MKO and how he was betrayed by those who appear in public as God’s people. He knows what to get, who to trust and who to see as necessary evil, he also knows who to avoid. The assassination of IGE threw up the Unprecedented Leadership of JAGABAN._

_At first, it looked like a common joke but the effect of the laughter has destroyed many jaws and vandalized many ribs. IGE killers made a fatal error, they didn’t see this coming._

_However, when Awo died, we thought it was over but the joy we felt in days of MKO erased the sorrow of Awo’s demise, his death returned us back to 1987. Sad. IGE stood up from Siddon Look but also returned us back to 1987 in no time._

_TINUBU has wiped our tears and moved us up to 1993. That is the point we are at the moment. Will there be a victory for 1993 in 2023? We pray ?. Or will they dim this star too? God forbid._

Everyone will die, those who destroy and those who are destroyed. Death may be the end of man’s mission but not the end of HOPE. May God continue to bless Progressives in Nigeria with good leaders in all critical times.
