#SmartCity: Advocacy for a Cleaner Agarawu, Lagos
The 3rd edition of an annual cleaning exercise in Agarawu area of Lagos Island tagged ‘Advocacy of A Cleaner Agarawu Community’ recently was a huge success.
This yearly event is put together by ‘IBA’ (I Believe Agbaje) in partnership with Washington Base. IBA is a social political group based in Agarawu community of Lagos Island,
The thursday 31st December, 2020 event enjoined support from Agarawu CDA, Oko-Awo CDA, APC Ward B2, Ibo Traders Association, Members of Hausa community among others.
The cleaning exercise which commenced by 10am from Nnamdi Azikiwe Street tru Tom Jones junction enroute Idumagbo Avenue and Dosumu street. The activities also touched St Patrick Pry School Oko Awo and Primary Health Centre in Agarawu, Isale Agbede street, Iga Idunganran, Ibomo, Oroyinyin, Scott Streets witnessed cleaning and sensitization activities during the 3hrs programme.
The exercise was another volunteering opportunity for youth within the community to clean-up their environment and also sensitize others on the importance to always clean their surrounding.
Among those in attendane were the Chairman of Agarawu CDA Mr Tunde Thompson, Chairman Oko Awo CDA Mr Kinoshin, APC Chairman Ward B2 Alhaji Audu Atanda, his Youth Leader Mr Lateef Sanda, Councillor representing Ward B2, Lagos Island West LG Hon Muuz Fatumbi, Representative of Oloye Jakande of Lagos, Iya Agan of Lagos Mrs Ajiun, Mallam Salisu of the hausa community.
Hon Qudus Agbaje while thanking all that supported him said he will continue to promote and give support to the projection of a Smart City initiave by His Excellency, Gov Babajode Sanwo-Olu.
