#Grassroot Developments: ALGON BOT Passes Votes of Confidence On It’s President

The Board of Trustees (BoT) of the Association of Local Governments of Nigeria (ALGON) yesterday passed a vote of confidence in the National President Kolade David Alabi.

Arising from a two-hour meeting presided over by its Chairman, Odunayo Ategbero, the board said Alabi has done well for the association.

In a motion moved by the ALGON Chairman, Niger State, Ibrahim Bosso and seconded by Victor Ebonka from Delta State, members applauded the leadership of Alabi for the civility, unity and peace in the association.

The board hailed the synergy between the security agencies in reducing crimes in the country.

“Success in winning the war on banditry, kidnapping, insurgents, herders/farmers’ crisis and Armed robbery among others should remain consistent until the country are is from such vices,” Ategbero said.

ALGON urged Nigerians to continue to cooperate with the security agencies in intelligence gathering to guarantee effective synergy for maximum results.

The board urged Nigerians not to be distracted by lies and falsehood of few fifth columnists that do not mean well for the association.

“On the issue of the National Anti-Multiple Taxation Scheme (NAMTAXS), and the National Transit Insurance Scheme (NATIS), the BOT and NEC agreed that the eradication of illegal roadblocks, illegal multiple taxes, levies, fees, assaults and molestations must come to an end through the enforcement of extant laws as contained in the 4th schedule to 1999 Constitution and in line with President Muhammadu Buhari’s Economic Sustainability Programme (ESP),” the board stated.
