#Infrasture Development: Gombe State Govt Approves N16.4bn for 1st Phase of Industrial Park Project

Gombe Approves N16.4bn for First Phase of Industrial Park Project

The Gombe State Executive Council meeting, presided over by Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, has approved N16, 445, 029, 657. 45 for the construction of phase 1 of the Muhammadu Buhari Industrial Park.

The Commissioner for information and Culture, Mr Julius Ishaya Lepes, disclosed this to journalists after the meeting.

The Commissioner for Commerce, Trade and Tourism, Nasiru Mohammed Aliyu said the phase 1 of the park would consist of construction of administrative blocks, gate house, fence, road infrastructure, drainages, water supply storage and distribution as well as electricity supply.

He said the phase is expected to be completed within 32 weeks from the day the foundation stone was laid.

He said the park would attract high profile companies to the state and provide over 5,000 direct and indirect jobs.

The council also approved N1, 979, 13, 640 for the implementation of the phase 2 of the Gombe Geologic Information System.

The Commissioner for Lands and Survey, Jafun Biri, said the implementation of GOGIS phase ll project would take the form of a geospatial mapping and data collection that can be used for planning, real time crime tracing and tracking as well as minerals resources detection and possible exploration.

On compensation for victims of the Billiri crisis, the Commissioner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Ibrahim Dasuki Jalo said council approved N591, 550,000 as compensation for victims of the unrest.

Commenting on the Medium Term Expenditure Framework, MTEF, the Commissioner for Finance and Economic Development, Muhammad Gambo Magaji, said the framework which covers 2022‐2024 was submitted to council for onward transmission to the State House of Assembly for legislative action.

He added that the Gombe State Revenue Optimisation Company would provide the fund for the construction of the Muhammadu Buhari Industrial Park Phase 1 and the implementation of the Gombe Geological Information System phase ll.

The council meeting equally approved N950, 647, 980 for maintenance of the Gombe Regional Water Scheme for the year 2020. Ismaila Uba Misilli, DG Press Affairs Gombe reporting for;
