Movement for National Reformation Urges President Tinubu to Address Structural Problems, Restore 1963 Constitution

Abuja, Nigeria – The Movement for National Reformation (MNR) has condemned the hijacking of the recent #EndBadGovernance protests by forces hostile to Nigeria’s sovereignty and national interest. In a press statement monitored by Brooom Nigeria in Abuja today, The Team led by Da Jonathan Akuns expressed solidarity with the Federal Government and urged President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to expedite action in addressing citizens’ plight.

MNR lamented the loss of lives, properties, and livelihoods during the protests and regretted that a noble civic act was infiltrated by forces that inflicted sorrow on the nation. The group also observed a minute silence to those that were lost during the protest.

The group emphasized the need for good governance, citing the fundamental objectives and directive principles of State Policy, which prioritize the security and welfare of the people. Other members in the MNR delegation includes Comrade David Ajetunmobi, Representative of South West; Rev. James Pam, North Central Representative, Engr Shuaibu Aliyu North West Rep; Comrade Babatunde Kolawole South West and Comrade Zariyi Yusuf, North Central Representative.



The statement also called for the restructuring of Nigeria on true federal tenets, advocating for the restoration of the 1963 Constitution, which was suspended and never abrogated. MNR urged President Tinubu to address structural problems, curb profligacy and corruption, and engage in dialogue with citizens.
