BRIDGE OF FAITH FOUNDATION: CONNECTING NEW JERSEY TO NIGERIA THROUGH PHILANTHROPY
NJ, USA – The Bridge of Faith Foundation, a non-profit organization, is bridging the gap between New Jersey and Nigeria through humanitarian efforts.
Founded on a vision to connect resources in New Jersey with needs in Nigeria, the organization’s name was inspired during a visit to Nigeria 17 years ago. With three visits under their belt, the team has identified key areas of need in Anambra and spreading across other cities in Nigeria .
“We saw ourselves as a bridge between the two communities,” said Marg Royle, Director of International Affairs, Bridge of Faith Foundation. “Nigeria’s English-speaking population and our connections through local churches in NJ made it a natural fit.”
The foundation’s outreach has included:
– Supplying food, medical equipment, and solar equipment to schools, hospitals, and orphanages
– Donating 5,000 school books to local libraries
– Hosting mathematics competitions for primary and secondary schools, with prizes for winners and runners-up
– Organizing football competitions involving 15 schools
Next Stop: Maroko, Lagos
The foundation sets its sights on Makoko, a waterfront community where students commute to school by canoe. A needs assessment visit is planned to determine how to support this unique community.
Chief Emeka F. Molokwu is the brain behind bridging the gap between NJ and Nigeria. Prince Babatunde Kolawole is the Lagos Project.Coordinator
“Bridge of Faith Foundation is committed to empowering Nigerian communities through education, healthcare, and economic development,” Douglas Taylor emphasized.
