Former Rivers HOS Alleges Fubara Behind State Crisis, Thanks PBAT for Swift Decision

Dr. George Nweke, the former Head of Service in Rivers State, has made some shocking allegations against suspended Governor Siminalayi Fubara. In a press briefing, Nweke claimed that Fubara was behind the chaos that threatened the stability of the state.

Nweke revealed that he voluntarily resigned from his position, contrary to reports that he was fired or pressured to resign. He thanked President Bola Tinubu for his swift intervention in the crisis, stating that the declaration of a state of emergency in Rivers State for six months was necessary to prevent economic sabotage and violence.

Allegations Against Fubara
Nweke made several allegations against Fubara, including:
*** Arson: Nweke claimed that Fubara directed his Chief of Staff, Edison Ehie, to burn down the Rivers State House of Assembly complex to avoid impeachment.
*** Destruction of Property: Nweke alleged that Fubara planned to destroy the residential quarters of House of Assembly members, but was thwarted by stakeholders in the state.
*** Plot to Disrupt Oil Facilities: Nweke claimed that Fubara planned to use militants to destroy oil facilities in non-Ijaw speaking areas, in order to remove attention from the Ijaw and make it seem like a statewide issue.
*** Media Manipulation: Nweke alleged that Fubara planned to capture the media by paying for airtime and retaining social media influencers and critics.

Nweke’s allegations have sparked controversy, and it remains to be seen how Fubara will respond to these claims.
