Atlanta, Georgia – The Nigerian diaspora plays a vital role in the country’s national development, remitting billions of dollars annually to support the economy, said Amb. Khairat Animashaun-Ajiboye, a Nigerian based in Atlanta, Georgia.

In an exclusive press statement which was monitored by the Chief Media Editor of Brooom Nigeria, Prince Babatunde Kolawole, Amb. Khairat emphasized the need for the Nigerian government to appreciate and engage the diaspora, citing their resourcefulness and dynamism. “Every great nation leverages its diaspora’s strength to advance,” she stated.

According to her, the diaspora’s contributions extend beyond  remittances, as they participate in elections, share expertise, and invest significantly in the country. “We can influence election outcomes and many of us visit Nigeria to contribute and vote when necessary,” she noted.

Amb. Khairat urged the government to harness the diaspora’s talent, resources, and experience, suggesting a platform to connect with passionate Nigerians abroad. “As president, I’d engage talented diasporans with passion, resources, and expertise to support Nigeria’s development,” she said.
