IBADAN BIDS FAREWELL TO CHIEF MUEEZ ADEGBOYEGA AKANDE
Ibadan, Nigeria: Today we laid to rest one of its most revered sons, Chief Mueez Adegboyega Akande, a philanthropist, politician, devoted father, grandfather, brother, uncle, the Otun Parakoyi of Ibadan land. The burial ceremonies, which began on October 23, were a testament to his impact on the community.
Burial Ceremonies
The festivities kicked off with a White Disco Party at Manhattan Hall, beside Signature Tower, Eleyele, on October 23. This was followed by a Christian Wake Keeping at Winners State Headquarters, Bashorun, between 4-5 pm. Finally, Chief Akande was laid to rest at private cemetery after a church service.

The funeral was attended by prominent figures, including:

– Governor of Kogi State represented by the SSG, Pastor Mrs Folashade Arike
– Olu Ibadan Oba Olakulehin

– Wife of the former Governor of Oyo state Mrs Ladoja
– Chief Mrs Lola Akande former Lagos Commissioner
– Akeredolu Alfred, Close friend of Chief Akande and younger brother to the former Gov of Ondo State
– Iya Oloja of Ibadan Land, Alhaja Iswat Abiola Oyinlola Ameringun
– Other notable personalities include the Chief Media Editor of Brooom Nigeria, Prince Babatunde Kolawole, Mr & Mrs Lanre Akeredolu, Alhaji Shina Ajala, Hon Adeyemi Gbolagade among many others.
The outpouring of support and tributes from across the nation reflects Chief Akande’s enduring legacy and influence in Ibadan and beyond. His commitment to the community and philanthropic efforts will be deeply missed.His impact on Ibadan will never be forgotten.
