The Rivers State Elders Council has today expressed gratitude to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for his efforts to restore peace in the state. This was made available to Brooom Nigeria In a statement, signed by the council chairman, Chief Ferdinand Alabraba, praised the President’s visionary leadership and timely intervention in the state’s crisis.

The council acknowledged that the President’s initial intervention was misinterpreted and ridiculed, and apologized for not seizing the opportunity to resolve their internal issues. They urged all Rivers State citizens to prioritize the state’s interest over personal or group sentiments and support the Sole Administrator in maintaining peace and stability.

This development comes after President Tinubu declared a state of emergency in Rivers State, suspending Governor Siminalayi Fubara and the state’s lawmakers.

The President’s decision aimed to address the persistent political crisis, constitutional breaches, and security threats in the state.
